We gathered in various living rooms or kitchens, and generally raided parent's or older sibling's tapes (!!) or even LPs (!!!) for gaming accompaniment. I associate certain authors I was discovering in those years (Moorcock, Leiber, Vance, etc.) with roleplaying, as they were inspirational to me as a GM and player. But music? No, not at all. Did you listen to music while you played/prepared for the game? I never did, so that may be the difference, now that I think of it.

I agree w/Trey, though. You were 11 to 14 when Mellon Collie came out??? *sigh*Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2513019539869706574.post-92124839377759218932010-06-10T07:10:32.091+08:002010-06-10T07:10:32.091+08:00You're making me feel old as most of bands you...You're making me feel old as most of bands you mention hit in my college to med-school years.

But I do really like Everclear. ;)Treyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04647628467658839351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2513019539869706574.post-35791792759864590342010-06-10T06:35:35.189+08:002010-06-10T06:35:35.189+08:00I always associate the Fun Lovin' Criminals...I always associate the Fun Lovin' Criminals' first two albums with Shadowrun, as I had both on constant repeat in the hope they'd inspire my ill-advised efforts to create a gritty street-level crime campaign. The Blade Runner soundtrack was in there too. I saw them live a few times and got to know them before they became big (just before "World Of Noise" came out).

I used to like Saint Etienne also.
