Gerard Trignac is the perfect blend of Mervyn Peake and M. C. Escher:
I hadn't thought about it before but Peake and Escher do have something in common. Also the weird fungi and plants in Escher prints - what's up with those? Of course I'm familiar with the obvious knee-jerk reaction whenever speculative art and mushrooms are mentioned in the same sentence, but I suspect MC might've read some pulp lit that was also keen on curious fungi.
So is Piranesi.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. These are a perfect fit for my campaign setting.
ReplyDeleteWow wow wow
ReplyDeleteI want to live in these.
They remind me of China Mieville's city of New Crobuzon.
