ConstantCon Google+ Recruitment

I am going to run a BECMI D&D campaign based in Yoon-Suin on a weekly basis from next Wednesday, using Google+ and Zak's ConstantCon. The game will run from 7.30pm GMT (so, sorry to everyone in North America!), once a week. Consider this a recruitment ad: I'm looking for 4 players who are into sandbox games in a living world, and who are willing to take the initiative and drive things along (with liberal help from the DM). If you've been reading my blog for any amount of time you probably know what kind of DM I am likely to be, and the rough flavour of the game world. Though I've attached some pictures below to give you a feel of the flavour.

If you've never played BECMI, it's like B/X or Labyrinth Lord with a few tweaks.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please email me at jean DOT delumeau AT gmail DAWT commm, and if you're a regular reader/commenter on the blog, tell me who you are, as it's likely you'll recieve preferential treatment in the recruitment process.

Characters will start at 1st level and work their way up from there - I want to develop a continuous, regular old school campaign just like the Old Timers did in Ages Past.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

  1. Right time zone, right rules set, no web cam. Rats!

  2. Ah man, everything's right except for the time commitment. If it were a drop-in it would be one thing, but this term is looking like a beast and I can't commit to a regular game.

  3. Fabian: I don't think a web came is strictly necessary provided you have a mic. I actually think it's possible to just use text with Google+ hangouts.

Roger the GS: I'm not necessarily wedded to the idea of the same 4 players every week - I might do a more "Western Marches" style affair if I get lots of applicants.

  4. That might work for me. How long are you planning on making the sessions? What day of the week?

  5. I really like your setting, but like Roger, I'm not going to be regularly available for the next couple months. But if you're running any pickup/FLAILSNAILS games, it would be really cool to play in Yoon-Suin.

  6. Finally, another GMT-based hangouts game!

I'd love to play in this but wouldn't really be able to commit to the game on more than a week-by-week basis. If you do decide to go the Western Marches route then I'd gladly join the player pool.

  7. Dang, this leads to mid day for me, when I'm in class. What a shame. This sounds very cool...

  8. No mike either anymore - consigned both to the scrapheap months ago. Text does work but I think it would be jarring for other players and DM. Good luck with it all. Sounds like it will be great!

  9. Billy: Probably 3 hours (ish). The day of the week is Wednesday - I can't really manage any other weekday, unfortunately.

Everybody Else: If you're interested in a West Marches style game, please email me anyway. I have quite a lot of interest so I may end up taking that option.

  10. Do you want a regular group, or are some weeks on, some weeks off players ok? I can know in advance, that's not a big deal, but committing to every Wednesday is ...

  11. Stupid double comment retracted, email sent!

  12. Not gonna work for me. Sounds like fun though. Please post session summaries :)

  13. Definitely interested, not a long-time reader of your blog, but am now stumbling across plenty of gold here! Yoon-Suin excites me.
