A New Purchase

Found in my FLGS for £8. It smells funny and has a thin layer of grease on the cover, but looks in one piece.  Who could possibly resist?

  1. Officially jealous.
I always wanted to read through Palladium to see how much in common with Rifts it was.

  2. Nice! That is the pre-Rifts edition. Only your armor has SDC. We ultimately found it to be a little too fiddly with the skills and all the different magic systems, and went back to AD&D and then a LONG hiatus of GURPS only, but it had its charms. And the best disclaimer!

  3. I could not resist... no matter how bad Palladium's system is.

Got myself a brand new collector's something Rift book... I had played in highschool (so long ago) and, well, it should have stayed that way.

is there as much exclamations mark (!) in this one than the Rift rulebook? it's a bit funny ("this pistol does 4d6 damage!", "can jump up 3 feet!" etc)

  4. I looked for this online some years ago, but never found a seller with whom I was confident they understood the difference in editions, and I've no interest in revised versions. Nice find!

  5. Oh, nice. This is the one that has homosexuality as an insanity.

    1. It's a neurosis induced by bad mothering, apparently. Kevin Siembieda clearly missed his calling as a psychoanalyst.

  6. I had the misfortune to experience an "all evil monsters" campaign around eight years ago. Shambolic system, terrible campaign idea.

    1. From what I can gather, the system is fine, but just badly organised, a la AD&D 1st edition.
